Reporting something that is wrong
This is the message we most want to receive, and the one we can act on fastest. Include the page address, the sentence as it currently reads, and what it should say instead. If the correction concerns a rule, a closure, a permit, or a fire restriction, a link to the land manager or agency that publishes it lets us verify in minutes rather than days — and that source goes into the page, so the next reader can check it too.
What happens next
Corrections are read in the order they arrive. Anything that could affect a reader's safety is looked at first and fixed ahead of everything else on the list. When a page changes in substance it says so, so you can see that the report landed. We do not promise a reply to every message, but a report that changes a page always gets one.
Suggesting a guide
The useful pitch is a question a beginner actually asked you, not a product to feature. Tell us who was stuck, what they were trying to do, and what they could not find an answer to. Those become the guides worth writing. Pitches that amount to a request for coverage of a particular brand are declined — see our affiliate disclosure for why placement is not something we sell.
Using our material
Quoting a paragraph with a link back is fine and needs no permission. Republishing a guide in full, translating it, or using our checklists in a commercial product does need permission — ask, and say where it would appear. Photographs are not always ours to license, so we will tell you when we cannot grant a request.
